Funding for impact is available for BBSRC remit projects 

The University’s BBSRC IAA Pump-Priming Funding Call 2023 is now open to support early-stage impact projects and knowledge exchange with users in industry, policy and third sector organisations, with a view to accelerating the translation of research outputs into impacts.  

  • Awards: up to £40,000 per application 
  • Project start date:  1 November 2023-15 January 2024 
  • Project duration: up to 9 months  
  • Deadline for applications: 18 September 2023 at 16.00 

Who can apply? 

Funding is open to researchers employed by the collegiate University with project proposals within the BBSRC remit. Previous/current BBSRC funding is NOT a requirement. Applications from ECRs with PIs as co-applicants are encouraged.

What activities can be funded?

Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Activities which aim to impact on policy, business and third sector practice
  • Engaging and influencing non-academic partners and end users, e.g. policymakers, farmers, industry etc.
  • Testing models/diagnostics/crops etc. in real world settings/conditions
  • Pursuit of commercialisation e.g. prototype development, market validation, access expertise to understand the regulatory landscape etc.
