The new EngBio Postdoc Fund supports postdocs within the University of Cambridge Synthetic and Engineering Biology community to develop their own interdisciplinary, cross-departmental and cross-school projects. Four awards of £1000 each will be available for projects led by University of Cambridge Early Career Researchers.

What can we fund? |

The Postdoc fund can support postdoc-led projects in the following core areas:

Projects must relate to areas of synthetic and/or engineering biology, including but not limited to:

What can we offer? |
|
The first round of funding will open for applications on Monday 18th July 2022 and close on Monday 1st August 2022. Four awards of £1000 each will be available. We can also offer support for idea development, and with administration (room booking, catering etc.). A brief (2 page) report will be due at the end of the project. |

Who is eligible? |
|
The lead applicant must be a postdoctoral research associate, research fellow or other junior member of staff at the University of Cambridge or its affiliated institutions (Babraham Institute, Wellcome Sanger Institute and CUH). Applications are welcome from both individuals and teams. Team members, partners and collaborators may be students and/or from external organisations. All applications must be signed off by a senior sponsor who can act as a cost-centre holder. This is usually an established academic or group leader. |
