About
Biography
Grace Alston is a Research Associate in the Ferguson-Smith Lab at the Department of Genetics. She received a PhD from the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Professor Wendy Bickmore. Her doctoral work addressed sequence variation in tissue-specific developmental enhancers, and included a collaborative project with Jef Boeke’s lab (NYU) to reorganise the PAX6 gene regulatory landscape.
Research Interests
I am interested in understanding mechanisms of gene regulation in embryonic development. My research focuses on defining the minimal DNA sequence features required to direct tissue-specific and allele-specific expression.
