Being a researcher can mean juggling lots of different things. You might be wrestling with funding, or promoting your work, or finding the most up-to-date research, or even with where to begin with writing up that data management plan you probably should have done a few weeks ago.
Luckily, the Biological Sciences Libraries Team are here to help! In January 2021, we will be launching our new online ‘Research Resolutions: Refreshing your Research Landscape’ course. The New Year is a great time for trying to get stuff sorted and so we wanted to build on the tradition of setting resolutions for the year ahead by getting you off to a good start with our short course.
Over the course of four weeks, we will introduce you to ideas around data management, managing your online presence, fine-tuning your literature searching, and understanding what funders might want from you. Each of these concepts will be explored through a short video, a bit of reading, and a quick exercise to give you some time and space to reflect on your own research needs.
We will release a new section each week during the month of January 2021 for you to work through at your own pace. You can work to the timetable we set out or you can dip in and out of this resource whenever you want to. We also have the option for you to request a certificate at the end to show off your new skills and your engagement with your own personal development.
