Biography

Dr Lara Allen leads the Centre for Global Equality, a Cambridge-based organisation focused on research and innovation for sustainable development, and the Cambridge Centre for Inclusive Innovation at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cambridge. She has a PhD from the University of Cambridge and over twenty years of experience working in as an academic and a sustainable development practitioner in South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Ireland and the UK.

Research

Lara Allen has developed an Inclusive Innovation framework, an approach for facilitating productive collaborations between academic researchers and key actors in civil society, government and business to ensure that innovations stemming from research are appropriate for end-users in low resource contexts and are diffused and scaled effectively.
