The EngBio IRC is searching for enthusiastic Postdoc, PhD student and support staff volunteers to join the Early Career Researcher Committee, and help shape the future of engineering biology research in Cambridge.
We are looking for new members to join the EngBio IRC Early Career Researcher Committee. This is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded researchers from across the university and learn more about engineering biology research in Cambridge. Our members come from a wide range of departments and institutes and are interested in topics across our research themes, from synthetic biology to lab automation. You will gain experience with event organisation and contribute to the university’s future strategy for engineering biology.
Along with supporting the aims of the EngBio IRC across Cambridge, we serve as representatives for the PhD, Postdoc, and Research Fellow communities at the steering committee. We host a monthly seminar series that showcases the research being conducted in Cambridge in the broad topics encompassed by engineering biology. We also provide a platform and funding for other activities relevant to engineering biology.
We invite applications from postgraduate students, postdoctoral research associates, research fellows and research support staff interested in the areas of engineering biology, synthetic biology and the various intersections of biology, engineering, and computing. Submissions are welcome from any School, department or affiliated institute (e.g. MRC-LMB, Babraham Institute). We encourage applications from the Schools of Technology and Physical Sciences, as well as the School of Biological Sciences.

Tasks:
- Participating in ECR committee meetings (1hr, quarterly)
- Charing sessions of the EngBio Early Career Researcher meetups (1-2hr, 1-2 times a year).
- Participating in steering committee meetings (2hr, quarterly) (optional).
- Organising other engineering biology-related events (optional).
