EPSRC IAA & Siemens Impact Starter Fund

This call is co-funded between the EPSRC IAA and Siemens AG to support impact and knowledge exchange activities. Awards up to £20,000 with a maximum duration of 3 months (finishing 31st August 2026 at the latest).

The deadline for this call is Friday 20th March 2026 16:00 and 1 project will be funded.

General rules

Who can apply?

All applicants must have department affiliation, and all applications will require Head of Department signature. Applications from early career researchers (ECR) with principal investigators as co-applicants are encouraged*. The project must fit within the scope of Siemens’ Company Core Technology sectors. These can be found here. The maximum project length is 3 months and the award up to £20,000.

*There is no standard definition of ECR. However, an ECR is generally considered as someone who is within eight years of the award of the PhD

  • Siemens AG does not include Siemens Energy or Siemens Healthineers as these are separate business entities.
