About
I am a PhD student currently working on drug development against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. My research background includes molecular biology, synthetic biology and genetics. I have participated in a project about DNA information storage in the iGEM competition, and served as one of the advisors in another iGEM project about crop diagnosis by miRNA. I have also worked on several projects in genetics using CRISPR/Cas9 system for genetic modification.
ResearchI am interested in the application of biological sciences in real-world problems. Currently, I am focusing on drug development, especially the topics of targeted drug delivery (by aptamers or antibodies etc) and antibiotic resistance. As the president of the Symbio Society in Cambridge and one of the advisors of the iGEM team, I am also interested in the methods of synthetic biology, especially designing a new circuit or system in or outside of cells. Besides, I am interested in the progress in gene editing and the potential applications of gene therapy against some diseases. I would love to learn more about different topics and techniques in bioengineering, and share my own knowledge and experiences in EngBio IRC.
