Dr Grace AlstonResearch Associate Dept. of GeneticsBiography
Grace Alston is a Research Associate in the Ferguson-Smith Lab at the Department of Genetics. She received a PhD from the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Professor Wendy Bickmore. Her doctoral work addressed sequence variation in tissue-specific developmental enhancers, and included a collaborative project with Jef Boeke’s lab (NYU) to reorganise the PAX6 gene regulatory landscape.
Research InterestsI am interested in understanding mechanisms of gene regulation in embryonic development. My research focuses on defining the minimal DNA sequence features required to direct tissue-specific and allele-specific expression.
