Research

I use the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha as a model system for evo-devo studies and synthetic biology. I worked on different aspects of transcription factor (TF) evolution and using them for engineering Marchantia. The simplicity of Marchantia has the potential to unlock new experimental approaches to systems biology and engineering. We aim to engineering morphogenesis and cell differentiation using effectors such as TFs and cell-cycle related proteins. We also work inoptimizing cloning and plant transformation methods for high-throughput approaches.
