My research interests
My research focussed on plant metabolism including evolution of new enzymes for producing unique compounds, the regulation of these biosynthesis genes, and how we can use engineering biology to rapidly screen and produce compounds for human health and agricultural purposes.
Here's an interesting fact about myself
I'm a big nerd for fantasy books and really just want to make potions so I found the closest thing I could do in science and then I discovered the science has more lore than even the best fantasy book!
What I enjoy most about being on the ECR committee
The society is a great way to broaden your research horizons. Often the problems you find in your research may already have a wealth of research in other fields that would be difficult to find just by searching through literature, but your colleagues in another department can often point you in the right direction.
Why someone should join the ECR committee
The society is super friendly, helpful and interdisciplinary. Organising the events really helps you to platform the research that fascinated you and the committee is all really keen to find diverse fields and people to platform which really feels rewarding.
