The Cambridge Engineering Biology Interdisciplinary Research Centre are seeking an enthusiastic Coordinator and Events Manager (Maternity Cover) to help organise, manage and deliver our activities, focussed around engineering biology, synthetic biology, bioinnovation, biotechnology, bioethics and open technologies.

This is an exciting, interesting and varied role covering aspects of project management, events management, science communication, public engagement, knowledge exchange and open science. A great opportunity to help make a difference in a truly innovative and expanding area of research.

The role holder will play a crucial role in creating a hub for interdisciplinary exchange between the physical sciences, engineering and the life sciences. Working closely with the IRC co-chairs, steering committee and events and communications assistant, the Coordinator will promote efforts to facilitate the exchange of novel foundational technologies and applications, build shared resources and provide a point of exchange. Responsibilities include managing seed funding competitions, organising formal and informal scientific meetings and forums, and developing and managing relationships with stakeholders within and external to the university.
