Dr Andy Symonds

Biography

I am currently an AI Engineer at a global tech consultancy, with a background in molecular biology, having completed my PhD in Neuroscience at The University of Western Australia, before postdocs in the Bioengineering Department at The University of Washington, where I studied water purification using different membranes and the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology at King's College London, where I crested transgenic zebrafish to study the formation of the neuroepithelium

Research

I am interested in how advances in AI and software best practices can be applied to Engineering Biology.
I am particularly interested in using these techniques to address climate change, such as drawing down carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and what scaling this to an industrial level would look like.
