Dr Girish Beedessee
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dept. of Biochemistry
Biography
Girish is a Herchel Smith Postdoctoral fellow (visitor) in the Department of Biochemistry and is interested in biosynthetic enzymes and their role in secondary metabolite biosynthesis. He is now employing biophysical and computational approaches to understand a novel mode of re-engineering DNA condensation. His PhD was in the field of marine genomics at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Japan, followed by a year as a JSPS Postdoctoral fellow exploring different sequencing platforms to understand genomic and transcriptomic events in marine organisms.
Research Interests
Secondary metabolism, 3D genome, multiomics, protists
