Open Technology Week

Open technologies are becoming increasingly prevalent in many aspects of society. In this workshop, open to the general public, we will explore through talks and demos many aspects of open technologies and their implications in the context of research and education.

Open Science Framework (OSF) is an open source platform to support researchers during the entire research lifecycle: from the start of the project, through data creation, editing and sharing with collaborators and concluding with data publication.

How can we ensure that researchers are rewarded for the quality of their research and not only for the impact factor of the journals in which they publish? What needs to happen so the quality of the whole research process is taken into account when considering recruitment or academic promotions?

The Open Technology for Development Make-a-thon brings hardware design challenges from international development and humanitarian contexts to problem-solvers who are challenged over the course of five days to prototype solutions using open source technologies. Open to Undergraduates at the University of Cambridge from any subject.
