We are delighted to see that the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology has made Engineering Biology one of its top 5 priorities for its future strategy. Given the strong cross-disciplinary ethos in Cambridge, this provides a real opportunity to grow this area and build on what our IRC has established. With our track record as host of the UK Synthetic Biology Research Centre OpenPlant, Open Bioeconomy Lab, Centre for Global Equity and more, we are poised to realise our strong potential in Engineering Biology.
