Biography

Throughout history, engineering has moved to ever finer media - from stone to metal to circuitry. Each transition allows for innovations impossible under the previous regime, and we are in the early stages of the engineering of life itself - synthetic biology.

Research

Metabolic engineering of plants with the broad goal of improving global food security. In the mid-term this manifests as improving the tools and capacity for crop biofortification. Currently focusing on the production and characteristics of transplastomic plants.
