Biography
I am currently the Sir William Dunn Professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge. I did my PhD in Cell Biology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, studying actin dynamics. I trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the MRC-LMB in Cambridge and also at the MRC-LMCB in London.
Research
My research interests include cell migration, actin dynamics, adhesion and membrane trafficking. I am studying how these fundamental cell processes work in normal cells and also in cancer invasion and metastasis. I am also interested in how cells sense the mechanical properties of their environment and adapt to different environmental challenges.
